Term 4 Week 5 - Reflections
We have Social Dance every Tuesday, in preparation for the Yr 8 Ball at the end of year, and we've learnt quite a few dances; for example The Maxina and The Snowball Waltz. We had the school gala, which unfortunately I wasn't able to attend. We had The Grandparents Concert, which I took part in as part of The Choir, The Production cast and the Guitar group. We watched WALL.E today, as we're going to do a movie review on it. We're doing Hard Materials for Tech Arts at the moment, and we're making speakers. I don't really think that we've done anything else, but hopefully I'll update again next week. Bye guys

Term 3 Week 4 - Reflections
Hi internet.
So as I told you before, I started a novel analysis on 'To Kill a Mockingbird' last term. I've finished it now, I just keep forgetting to actually hand it in. We did our speeches on Mon. Apparently mine wasn't terrible enough, so now I have to read it again for class finals. And if I get through for that, I get to read it in front of five classes. Fun :'(
So anyway, that's not all. The library just got a lot of new books delivered, and when they were locked up in the library office, I looked at them through the window. There are so many cool books! there are David Walliams books, John Greene books, James Dashner books, and so many others! I was basically fangirling over the books with my face pressed against the glass. they're going to be covered, and we're going to look at them after lunch. I'm going to miss some of Choir so that I can look at them, otherwise all the good books will be gone. God I'm such a nerd :P
The College test is looming. It's only about five weeks away. I really want to do well and get into the accelerate classes. Not much else to tell. I'll see you again next week

Term 3 Week 3 - Reflections
Hi guys. We haven't been doing much this week. We had a Powhiri (welcoming) yesterday, but we had Tech at the same time so we got a choice on whether we wanted to go or not. I didn't go. We were greeting four Chinese students who are learning English. They're staying here for about two weeks and then they're leaving back to China. There are two boys and two girls. The girls are staying with a girl in my class, so we see them a lot. The two Rock Bands performed in a competition, Band Slam. Toxic Rose, one of their bands, placed third in the creative section. They played for the school not long before, and they were really good. The College expo was fun. I've chosen my four subjects, Food, Music, Drama and Special Effects. I really hope I get to do them all. Nothing else really. See you next week

Term 3 Week 2 - Reflections
Hi internet.
This week, I've been quite busy. We had a lot of Cross Country practice. :(
Our Wood Tech teacher has quit, so now our Music Tech teacher has taken his place, and the band and choir teacher is teaching us Music Tech. Music's boring without Mr Graham :(
He's not my guitar teacher anymore either, so now I've got Mr Ellis again. We've been looking at ballads, and now we have to write one. i'm nearly finished mine.
There Was a Girl
There was a girl,
She was so beautiful
She had so many friends
Complements were plentiful
She had the perfect life
Or so it seemed
Nobody noticed the cracks in her mask
Nobody noticed it was all a dream
There was a girl
So broken inside
But she bottled it up
She had to hide
Her weight decreased
Her skin became pale
But nobody noticed
They couldn’t see through her veil
But I could see
I saw how she despised herself
How she pushed others away
How she wanted to end herself
I saw the way her eyes lost their sparkle
How her hair became limp with grease
And of all the questions going through my head,
‘How could they not see?’
There was a girl
She stopped trying
She didn’t try to conceal
When she was crying
They finally noticed
But did they care?
Nobody asked her
When she disappeared where
There was a girl
She stole my heart
But I couldn’t tell her
I thought she would laugh
I should have tried
I should have said
Maybe then she wouldn’t
Have ended up dead
That's my ballad so far. I still think it could be better though. I started a Critical Analysis of 'To Kill a Mockingbird' last term but I didn't finish it, so I need to finish this term. I've just got two more paragraphs to do. Our speeches are due tomorrow. I still need to do another paragraph. I've been putting off doing it. We've got the College Expo today. I've already decided on a few of my extra subjects. I know I want to do Food and Drama, and I'm probably going to do Photography. I don't know about my last one though. Anyway, that's all for this week. Till next time!

Term 3 Week 1 - Reflections
Hello internet. (If you get this quote then I love you, you are PHANtastic and we can be friends :P)
So, I just got back to school. We've got Cross country soon. Yay :(
We have to do Cross Country practice every day :'(
Who genuinely likes Cross Country? Mad people. Anyway, besides from Cross Country, the College Expo is soon. We have to pick four extra curricular activities for next year at College. there's nothing really exciting this term. Just things I hate, like Speeches. At least I have my birthday this term! And it's in the weekend! :)
It's only Wednesday so nothing's really happened, but I'll see you next week OK?

Term 2 Week 10 - Reflections
Hi guys! Sorry I haven't posted in awhile, I've been busy. Production's over! I'm sad yet happy. Anyway, two weeks ago, the whole week was Production practice, during school, so we didn't do school work, and then on Friday we had Field Days! I tried to eat a doughnut and drink coffee at the same time, and spilt coffee all down myself. Speaking of disasters, I was watching The Maze Runner, jumped at a part of it, and spilt coffee all down my new onesies. This was only days after the Field Days incident. Just yesterday, I heard something funny, burst out laughing, and sprayed spit all over the back of my friend's head. So yeah. I'm not accident prone at all! (I would tell you all the things I did since last time I updated, but you probably already think I'm an idiot, so I won't)
Last week was the actual week of performances for Production. So many things went wrong! The first night, pretty everything went wrong, so I won't bore you by telling you everything. Although Brooke, my assistant in the Production, lost her shoes. Griffyndor (Gryffin) stood on the back of her shoe, and it came off, so she had to flick the other one under the table. On the last night, it was the last scene, and I went through a door, but it wouldn't close. I kept trying to close it, but it was being annoying, so eventually I just left it. Then I couldn't stop laughing! It was SO embarrassing.
Anyway, that's pretty much all that happened with me. Goodbye for now, and I will see you (not literally) next week (hopefully)

Term 2 Week 7 - Reflections
A hearty hello to you, my dearest readers/awkward turtles/PSYCHOPATHS!
Anyway, a lot has been happening this week, and I've been very busy *cough* lies *cough*. I've been practicing for production, and I got my shoes for it! I had to get high-heeled shoes for my outfit for production, so finally my Mum has let me get high-heels! Yay! I've got to give those in today, as well as a pair of tights. I have to wear one of Mrs German's suits, so hopefully we're the same size. Have I told you about my part in Production yet? I don't think I have. But anyway, if I have then too bad, I'm just going to tell you again. The Production is a lot like Cinderella, and my part is essentially the evil step mother. I'm the evil mayor Brunella, and I have my own office and everything. I have a line that says "And there won't be enough money left over to refurbish my mayoral office!" I'll just say one thing. I can see why I want to. But anyway, that's pretty much it. Unrelated to school though, I went to the snow! It was the first time I'd seen proper snow in 5 years! Ok, I think that's it. Keep calm and love Black Butler (Kuro shitsuji) AKA the most amazing anime ever! Goodbye!

Term 2 Week 5 - Reflections
Hello to you, my awkward turtles! How are you? Because I'm in pain.
We had to have our second HPV vaccination today. Yay! It was not fun. It hurt more than last time :'(
Anyway, not that much happened. We had Production practice yesterday, and I think I've got the hang of my song now. We had Maths tests, which are always exciting. *cough* sarcasm *cough* But anyway, that's pretty much it. I lead such an exciting life, don't I?
If you're reading this, I really hope you're not allergic to sarcasm. I'm having Jump Jam soon, and I'm dreading it. My are still hurts, despite the fact that we had it about three and a quarter hours ago. Just think how it's going to feel after Jump Jam. I think that's all, but never mind, you'll see me next week. And the next. And the next. And the next. And the next..........
OK, goodbye, see you next week!

Term 2 Week 4 - Reflections
Hi! It's me again. I wonder if anyone actually reads these. Probably not. Oh well. Anyway, onward, to the boring details of my life.
As usual, not much has happened, although we did have a Production sleepover in the weekend. We stayed Sat to Sun, and it was really fun. We did Act 1 of the Production, and we did some work on the songs too. The food was really good this time, not that it matters, but... at least it wasn't raw.
Anyway, away from the topic of food, everyone in the Production is getting a lot better, and there are great singers. Most people aren't using their scripts anymore, and I think it's a lot easier for them to act when they're not constantly reading something. Production isn't all I've been doing though. I've been VERY busy doing other stuff-
Okay, that's a lie. I haven't really been doing much else. Science Tech Art is over soon though, and we'll be doing food next! Yay! If you couldn't tell, I love cooking. But I'm going to just assume that you could guess that by what I wrote, because frankly, I don't know anyone that stupid. Okay, that's all for now, I've finished boring you for this week.
Have fun, be safe, watch Doctor Who- I mean, umm.... Just ignore that last one. (Don't really though) Goodbye!

Term 2 Week 3 - Reflections
Hi! I had Music Camp last week, which is why I didn't post anything, so sorry about that. But anyway, to the happenings!
For anyone who doesn't know, Music Camp is where the choir and the band from three schools (Te Awamutu Intermediate, Matamata Intermediate and Cambridge Middle School) come together for two days, and on the second day, there's a concert to display what we've been doing. It was really fun, but the food wasn't very good. The chicken was undercooked, some pieces with blood in it, and a few of the burgers were still pink. Apart from that though, the camp went off without a hitch. I'm in the choir, and sung quite a few songs, including one from the movie Anastasia, and a 60's Medley, which was frustrating, because they said we were going to do a Beatles Medley which I was really looking forward to, and instead we did that. I had a solo in the Medley though, so yeah. Anyway, that's pretty much it. C u next week!

Term 2 Week 1 - Reflections
Hello my awkward turtles! Did you have a good holidays? I did.
This week, we've been talking about starting Passion Hour again. I don't know if I told you about it last year, but if I did, then I'm going to tell you again anyway. Passion Hour is from Google, which was originally called 'Genius Hour'. It's a time during the week where we get to do something that we're passionate about dog, hence the name Passion Hour. For me, I'm writing a picture book sort of thing, because I love writing and drawing. One of my friends is writing music, and another is doing an inquiry instead, because she doesn't have a passion. So anyway, we'll be starting that again soon! Nothing very exciting has happened this week. We had Jump Jam yesterday. Do you know what's really annoying? On Wednesdays, I have Jump Jam, walk home, then have netball practice. It's so exhausting. Anyway, I think that's all for this week. Bye!

Wellington
Hi guys! Last week I went to Wellington from Sun 22nd - Fri 27th. It was so fun! It took nearly the whole day to get there! It was about eight hours until we finally arrived. But it was worth it.
Capital E
I think my favourite place was the Capital E Media Lab, where we made 3D movies, using an app called 'Unity'. We made mountains, streams, flocks of birds... I would definitely do it again. We also took part in the Capital E ONTV program, where we were filming and performing a news script about fairy tale characters. I was the director, and so I got to wear a headset, and switch between the different cameras.
Life
The Wellington zoo was fun, and I saw some really unique and adorable animals that I'd never heard of before, like Squirrel Monkeys and Red Pandas. We also saw lots of marine life at the Island Bay Marine Reserve. There were crabs, brightly coloured anemones, different types of fish and seahorses. There were lots of different native animals in Zealandia, and we got to touch Tuatara.
Pools
The H20 Xtreme pools was really cool though, and there were three different water slides. There was a blue one, which was the usual kind of water slide; there was a black one, which was the same, but slightly longer, and pitch black; and a yellow one, which was just like a giant slide.
Death
We went to the National Library, and we got put into groups according to our birthdays. I have a birthday twin! He has the exact same birthday, just one year after mine. We learnt about the Gallipoli war, and the groups of people who refused to go. We learnt about WW2 as well, at the Holocaust Centre of New Zealand. There were 1.5 million buttons in their basement, each button representing a Jewish life lost in the holocaust era.
Parliament
We took a cable car to Lambton Quey, and walked to outside the Parliament house, where we met Andrew Little, the leader of the Labour party. We went inside, and had to pass through a metal detector. We had to listen to a talk, and then we went to a different room, where we had to sit through another talk, before meeting Barbara Krulger, the MP for Taranaki King Country. Then we went to the Chamber, with all of the Parliament people arguing with each other. It was so funny! They acted more like children than we do!
Observatory
The Carter Observatory was really interesting, and I learnt lots. Did you know you can eat Skittles in Space? There was a really cool space flight simulator. I crash into a planet, but some of the guys crashed into everything. It was so funny. We went into the theater, and there was a dome screen, where they taught us about all the differen constellations. There are so many! I really liked the Sirius constellation, or the 'dog star'.
It was the best camp I have ever been to, and I didn't want to leave by the end of it.

Term 1 Week 7 - Reflections
Hi guys! I had a really exciting week this week! Sort of. OK, so we had production callbacks, and I got a part! I'm the evil mayor, Brunella. It was originally Bruno, because it was a guy, but now is a girl, because I'm playing it, which is why the name's so weird. I get to sing a whole song by myself, and I have heaps of lines! Anyway, for choir I've got a solo too, in the song 'Lean on Me', which we're going to be doing next term. I've got lots of things going on this year. 3 days until Wellington Camp! I'm so excited! My friends are really getting annoyed with me. It's going to be amazing, and I'm going to have so much fun! Anyway, I think that's all for now. Bye!

Term 1 Week 6 - Reflections
This week, I have learnt that I'm a good actor! I got into callbacks for production speaking parts. We have to learn the words to a song, and then we have to sing it to them. And the song is.....................................
DON'T GO BREAKING MY HEART!!!
It has a very long title, doesn't it? I finished my jumper yesterday, and I wore it today, because it's mufti day! Yay! I love mufti day. Don't you?
Wellington Camp is in 1 week and 4 days! It's way too long to radiator! Sometimes, I just wish I had a time machine. Oh well, I'll just have to be really patient, though that isn't my strong point. Anyway, goodbye!

I am an insane nerd
I wonder if I will be successful
I hear music swirling round in my brain
I see bowties and a big blue box
I want to publish a book
I am an insane nerd
I pretend to be The Doctor
I feel free, carefree
I touch the stars, I just wish that I could keep them
I worry that I’m not good enough
I cry over deaths of characters in books and movies
I am an insane nerd
I understand that not all people are nice
I say that everyone is equal, no matter what race, gender, or sexuality.
I dream of nothing
I try to make friends, and do well at school
I hope to be happy
I am an insane nerd

Term 1 Week 5 - Reflections
This week, we did a lot of different tests. We did everything from PATs to basic facts tests, so we didn't really do much learning. We had Tech Arts, and we got sorted into different groups for the Wellington Trip, which is in 2 weeks & 4 days! We got sorted into everyday groups, our cabins, and what we're doing for ETV. I'm going to be director! I've been having trouble reading things on the white board, so I had an eye test, and I learnt that I'm getting glasses! I can't wait! Anyway, that's all from me. Bye, see you next week!

Term 1 Week 4 - Reflections
Hi guys! This is what I learnt this week:
This week, I have learned that I'm not completely hopeless at sewing! Who would have thought? I also learnt about how awesome or trip to Wellington is going to be. We got the itinerary, and it sounds amazing! We're going to Wellington zoo, and we're going to the Capital E Digital place, and we're going snorkeling... I can't wait!
Anyway, see you all soon, goodbye for now!

Term 1 Week 3 - Reflections
Hi guys! This is just another learning reflection from me.
This week, I reminded myself about expanding and simplifying numbers. Really easy really, but I forgot! So how you do it is this:
You put in the brackets the first number, and multiply it by the place value, then the brackets stop, and you put an addition sign, then the next in brackets, and so on, eg:
13578=
(1×1000) + (3×1000) + (5×100) + (7×10) + (8×1);
Expanding with powers is the same, but with powers, eg:
20870=
(2×100^4) + (8×10^2) + (7×10^1)
Anyway, goodbye, see you soon!

Term 1 Week 2 - Reflections
Hi guys! Apparently, this year, we have to do reflections of what we learned during the week, even though we didn't have to do them last year, which is really confusing, but oh well.
This week, I learned what face value is. It's really simple, but I'd never actually learnt it, and what it is is this:
So you know place value is what column the number is in, hundreds, thousands etc, and total value is how much each number is worth, 300, 4000 etc. Face value is basically just the number, eg:
The face value of the 7 in 1790 is just 7.
Anyway, bye!

Tech Arts Cycle 1 - Fabric
Hi guys! Did you miss me? No? Oh well, I don't really care. Anyway, as you know, last year I told you about my Tech Arts. Well, I'm going to do it again this year, but this time I'm going to try to keep it up all through the year. Anyway, enjoy!
Week 1
This week we were filling out parts of our booklets, and looking at different kinds of fabric like polyester etc. We were also designing our polar fleeces which we are going to make soon. My design is amazing! It's to have cat ears, a bowtie, and the sleeves are going to have fingers! Because, quoting my favorite TV series: Bowties are cool!
Week 2
This week we were learning about how polar fleece is made, Anand filling out more of our booklets. We also cut out the shapes for our polar fleeces, and we sewed the shoulder seams using the sewing machines.
Week 3
