1 Month Anniversary

Hello everyone. I would just like to say that it was my 1 month anniversary on the 20. Sorry I have not updated in ages but I have been very busy. I would now like to share some poems that I wrote with you! My friend will be choosing three and I will chose one more.

Rainy Day
The miserable rain droplets drizzle down,
Puddles starting to form on the ground.
The sky is sad, and so it weeps.
It rains down, week after week.
The buckets falling down,
No sign of stopping.
No more heatwaves,
Wet footprints.
Rainy
Day.

Moonlit Night
The lantern of the night,
Beaming down on us, so bright.
Guiding us down a dusty path.
Not wanting it to go to dark.
Using the light down the road,
Helping us find our way back home.
We’re back at home, don’t make a peep.
For everyone has gone to sleep.

Winter
Windy swirling round you,
Icy cold grips.
Nothing but snow and ice,
Together forming a winter wonderland.
Encasing the world like a thick carpet,
Rejoicing by children coming to play in the snow.

Spring
Spring has woken up the flowers,
Peeling back,
Revealing their beauty.
Insects swarming out,
Nestling into the flowers.
Gathering nectar, now their number one mission.

Why People Hunting Endangered Animals Is An Environmental Problem

Hunting for sport, for trophies, and for food is very popular around the world. For many people, shooting an animal and watching it fall is a satisfying, not horrific, experience. Many hunt out of a desire to enjoy hurting the animal. Most hunt out of a desire to get out into the wilderness and pit their intelligence against a dangerous animal. Most hunters don’t care whether or not the animal they’re hunting has babies, and will sometimes leave them to try fend for themselves, often being eaten by predators.

Many species of animal are extinct or endangered because of people hunting them for food or skins. The rhino is still killed illegally for its horn, which is fashioned into a dagger hilt, or ground into powder and consumed for various medical properties. There are, as of 2010, about 2,500 of them, across the subspecies, left in the wild, in Kenya, Tanzania, and around the south east coast nations of Africa, north to Angola.Poaching aside, South Africa has elected to sell some of the animals to professional hunts at very high prices. The cheetah is the fastest land animal on Earth, sprinting 70 to 75 miles per hour for over 500 yards at a time. In a fair fight versus a human, the cheetah would win without any trouble, weighing up to 160 pounds and far more agile, but they are very shy animals, and there aren’t any reported cases of cheetah attacks against humans in the wild. These are a couple of examples, but they aren’t the only ones being hunted.

Pollution is destroying homes for animals. Many animals like Cheetahs and Chimpanzees have had their homes destroyed by pollution. Birds like the Bali Starling and the Blue Throated Macaw have lost their homes because of people cutting down the trees where they live. Chemicals from garbage gets into the air and melts cold things like ice in the North and South poles were polar bears and penguins live. There are people who collect money to help the endangered animals, but not enough people are donating. If you give just a little bit of effort and set up something like a bake stall, you could raise quite a lot of money, especially if you make nice cakes.

There are so many ways you can help. So, if you care about animals and want to protect species and stop suffering, get involved today. There are lots of websites where you can donate money, or adopt an animal, and help provide the care and protection your animals need.

Tech Arts-Science

Our science class is a great learning environment where they incorporate fun with learning. The teacher is friendly and I enjoy her class.I have learnt more about science already, and I look forward to our next class.

Week 1
We learnt about POEW, a scientific process of prediction and observation. we also tasted different substances and described them as sweet, salty, sour, bitter or bland.
Week 2
We used POEW to observe and predict when we made balloon crafts, to get a straw from one end of the room from the other. The key was to thread the string through the straw, and connect the string to each side of the room. You then blow the attached balloon up big and release. If the string is very tight, then the balloon  will shoot across the string to the other side of the room.
Week 3
We learnt about forces, like gravity and friction. We have been making marble runs.
Week 4
We have finished our marble runs and tested them. My BFFs team came second by 0.02 seconds! We also learnt about more forces, such as twist and elastic.
Week 5
It was our last week of Science Tech Art, and we had a test. I'm going to have cooking next, so keep an eye out and I'll be putting in what I made and the recipes!
